Richard Bairstow

Richard is the principal dentist and owner of Swinnow Road Dental Practice. A graduate of the University of Leeds, he's lived in the local area most of his adult life.

He splits his working week between treating patients at our Leeds Dental Practice and his teaching position at the Leeds Dental Institute. In his role as a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Restorative Dentistry, he teaches students the most up to date dental techniques.

Richard has a particular interest in children's dentistry and helping dentally-phobic and anxious patients to accept dental treatment.

His favourite aspect of being a dentist is the daily interaction with his patients, making every day interesting and different.

Rebecca Bairstow

Rebecca graduated from the University of Leeds in 2006 and has worked in general practice ever since. She enjoys all aspects of the job, but mainly working with anxious patients and children.

She takes great satisfaction in putting people at ease so that they can accept treatment and gain confidence for the future. She also enjoyed her role working for Local Care Direct, treating patients with dental emergencies who could not get in to see their own dentist.

Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves cycling, chatting over tea and cake and supporting the Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey team.
